Engaging for Global Impact

Each year, Zonta International participates in global days of observance that align with its mission.  These key moments provide opportunities for Zontians to come together for service and advocacy actions to raise awareness, mobilize their communities, and advocate for systemic change worldwide. The Zonta Club of Kenmore is proud to champion these annual international campaigns and engage in activities that provide support to women and girls across the globe.

International Women’s Day and Zonta Rose Day, celebrated annually on March 8th, is an opportunity to acknowledges women change makers. A special Yellow Rose event is held to highlight women who work tirelessly to make our Ken-Ton community safer, healthier, and more equitable.

Earth Day is not only about protecting our planed; it is also a vital moment to recognize that women and girls are disproportionately affected by climate-related disasters. On April 22nd, Zontians are urged to  their voices on climate-aware decisions.

International Day of the Girl, October 11th, offers a reminder of the unique challenges and inequalities girls face worldwide.  Zontians are called upon to shine the spotlight and raise awareness of the obstacles and advocate for policies and programs empower girls.

16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence – Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women starts on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day. During the 16 Days, the Zonta Club of Kenmore holds numerous campaigns and programs to give support to preventative measures and empower survivors.

Birthing Kits – The Zonta Club of Kenmore partners with other WNY Zonta Clubs in assembling Birthing Kits that will be provided to women giving birth in developing countries. These are often life saving kits that help the women have a clean and healthier environment when having their babies.
