The President of the Zonta Club of Kenmore, Jenny Johnston and Karen Fritsch attended the 54th District 4 Conference in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, representing the Club. Jenny accepted the Service Award for Area 3, for their work in collaboration with the Women’s Veterans Program at the Veterans Hospital in Buffalo, NY. The Club members, along with the Z Club at Mount St. Mary’s Academy, made 36 blankets for the women inpatients at the hospital. Also, toiletries are collected at every meeting to be donated to the women veterans. The women at the hospital are so appreciative of the toiletries, as most of the donations the hospital receives are for the men. Donations of gift cards for the store at the VA Hospital, Wegmans, and Tops were also donated.
